Hunting Season explores the personal history and cultural mythology surrounding Western American hunting camps. Discarded canvas hunting tents from the artist’s family’s ranch, become large-scale canvases for the acrylic and charcoal paintings. In addition to the draping canvas of the tents, their original stamps, stitching, ropes, and hardware contribute to the sculptural nature of each piece.
